After 6 hours sleep, I arose at 5.50am ready for an early start for the Crystal ice caves. We travelled to Jokulsarlon for a 7am start, where we transferred to a 4x4 with huge wheels. We went on the main road for a short while and then across ice and snow for an hour to the ice caves. What we found was surreal.
