Arose at 7.00am, breakfast at 7.30am followed by a slide show - our best 5 photos.
9.30am - set off for our long journey back to Reykjavic.
9.55am - rain, low cloud
10.20am - arrived at Skaftafell. a stop for tea/coffee
10.55am - light snow. Glacier in sight.
11.08am - arrived at Svinafellsjokull. What an incredible sight, impossible to describe. Hopefully my photos will show something of the breathtaking scenery. I took loads of photos and used my new telephoto lens to great affect (magnifying up to 6 times to get in real close to the beauty of the glacier).
12.45pm - on the road again. A murky day interspersed with sun and blue skies.
2.00pm - snack and tea stop
2.20pm - on the road
2.37pm - Cloud lifting and brightening skies
2.42pm - heading through the mossy boulders again
3.08pm - passing through Vik
6.00pm - Arrived at Reykjavic and checked in to our hotel. Unfortunately the wifi was either poor or unobtainable!
7.30pm - Out for an evening meai at a nearby restaurant called Le Bistro. I went for the Icelandic fish platter of cured, smoked, dried and pickled fish plus the famous fermented Greenland shark (which caame in a glass container with a lid! The smell was a little putrid but a tasted a little - not too pleasant but OK!
