For our main part of our visit we stayed at Hali Country Hotel. It was really clean, the rooms were spacious, wifi was excellent, the staff were brilliant and the food was good. It was a great location - 15 minutes drive from Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon.

Hotel Katla was superb and the standard of the food was first class. The rooms very, very clean, tidy, spacious and the fast wifi was free. The rooms were always too hot!

The Centerhotel Plaza in Reykjavic was very good, clean and a great location but the wifi was poor.

The first night in Reykjavic we ate at the Restaurant Reykjavic - superb fish buffet. Magical starters and great main courses.

Our last night in Iceland we ate at Le Bistro. The Icelandic seafood platter was wonderful, although I did try some fermented Greenland shark! (Kæstur hákarl (Icelandic pronunciation: [ˈhauːkʰardl̥]) (Icelandic for "treated shark") is a national dish of Iceland consisting of a Greenland shark (Somniosus microcephalus) or other sleeper shark which has been cured with a particular fermentation process and hung to dry for four to five months. Kæstur hákarl is usually an acquired taste; it has a very particularammonia-rich smell and fishy taste.Kæstur hákarl is served as part of a þorramatur, a selection of traditional Icelandic food served at þorrablót in midwinter. It is readily available in Icelandic stores and is eaten year round).
The main course of lamb was also very good.
